At The River Inn, we want your pets to feel welcome. That’s why our staff will always work hard to make sure our four-legged guests are as happy as their human companions.
To help us keep everyone happy, we ask you to remember some pet guidelines during your stay.
- Keep your pet on a leash at all times when traveling around the property
- Please notify the front desk when housekeeping can service your room without stressing you or your pet
- Pets, sadly, are not permitted in our restaurant at any time due to Health Department rules.

Rock Creek Parkway
(along the Potomac River)
This 1.5-mile walkway is a favorite for runners and dog walkers. It takes you from the River Inn to the Lincoln Memorial along a picturesque riverbank – and is delightful at sunset.

Francis Dog Park is a popular recreational park and sports field where dogs, and their owners, can exercise amongst friends. It is busy with locals and tourists alike, especially in the early evening after-work hours.
